Stargate in Building E19

A Stargate from the science-fiction TV show 'Stargate SG1' appeared on a blank wall with its own set of stairs in the walkway between MIT's buildings E18 and E25 on the morning of January 24th. The symbols around the outer edge are logos derived from MIT culture—the Stata Center, the East Campus dorm logo, etc.

                  Memorial to Sir Arthur Peckington / 6.001 in Lobby 7

                  To mourn the end of the  the introductory computer science class 6.001 Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs, hackers hung a mobile of laser-cut acrylic lambdas in Lobby 7 accompanied by crests of the 'Knights of the Lambda Calculus' (a logo associated with the class) on the pedestals and copies of the 'Dying Words of Sir Arthur Peckington' displayed  on various surfaces.
